Funth's QBZ-95/97
Official Score » 8.4 Member's Score » 8.8
It takes alot of dedication and hard work to create just a model, but to also uvmap, skin, animate and compile a gun is almost unheard of, but thats what we have here. Compared to the other QBZ in the section, the model looks better, and the skin, while inaccurate to the real gun, looks better than if it was skinned to be realistic. There is really nothing exciting about the real QBZ's synthetic body, so the inaccuracy in this skin is forgivable. The animations are interesting, and by that the reload animation is pretty intertaining. When reloading, the character takes out the magazine and throws it into the air and then grabs a new one. Odd yes but nothing buggy about it. The one bug is with the origins in combination with the animations. When the gun is drawn the "end" of the arms (by this, I mean where there are no polygons) is exposed. That is something that needs fixing. Custon sounds are not present, I really can't think of a reliable source for a firing sound for this gun other than Battlefield 2, but apparently using sounds from other games in compiles is against the end user agreement. So, with that out of the way, this compile is good but needs a few tweaks here and there. I am not much of a Famas user so what I use as a replacement is not something I am concerned about, but for those who do use it, you minus well try this compile out and see if it is to your liking. Almost forgot to mention; this skin has world models.
Note: Follow the Readme closely to properly install the two model varients for this release.
