They are leaps and bounds better than the original Berettas and make a great replacement if you only wish to get a higher quality version of the same weapon. Thelama 5-7 Elites

The skin for this 5-7 impressed me more than the others, which seemed too murky or dull. The only part I personally don't like about these pistols are the LAM attachments which serve no useful purpose, but that is just me, some people appreciate little things like LAM units. Although this release contains world models and custom animations and sounds, it lacks any noticeable reflect maps, which really help add a metallic feel to the gun. Why is this the case? Well probably because they are not the most aesthetically pleasing designs ever, but needless of how they look, they still deserve a spot in our archives. The model is accurate to the real thing; ugly. The model doesn't have any faults really, it accurately represents the uglyness of the makarov. The skin is the only are in this release that could have been capable of making the gun more appealing like what was done with the CZ52 in our p228 section. The opportunity was passed up though and the skin is muddy and relativly plain. The animations are jennifer's which I personally don't like to see on compact pistols. The defaults just seem to fit smaller pistols for me better than jennifers animations do. There are however, custom sounds and world models. Review & Submission by Milkman

Both of the models have been released prior to the compile as elites, so nothing new to see here. The guns in their former compiles were great, and they still are as elites. The sound script has been configured to give two different firing sounds to be more accurate. The animations are okay, but I rather have the defaults, they work better with smaller pistols than Jennifer's in my opinion. Review & Submission by Milkman

The Tokarev is a little more pleasing on the eyes than the makarov, but it isn't a big improvement. The model is fine, but the skin is a I don't know if I can describe it correctly, blurry? The metal texture does look a little like metal, but the lack of a goof reflect map hurts it. The gun is practically all metal so I expected a little more ref/normal mapping. The animations are once again jennifers, I already described why I don't like them on small guns in the makarov review, but the same applies here, even though the tokarev is a little bit larger than the makarov, they still seem unfitting to me. While it lacks world models the player model is good enough that I don't miss not having them. P226's are one of my favorite pistols in CSS so I will be sporting these for awhile. As long as I've been waiting for this to happen, this release just doesn't cut it for me, the skins aren't too amazing, and 'shimmer' a lot, even with high anti-aliasing, they also feel quite big on screen, but that is more the animations fault. Besides these problems reflect maps, Jennifer's anims, and world models are included, and for some of you may let you enjoy these more than I did. This skin reminds me of the Centurian USP replacement for 1.6, which was one of the best. And this is the same, a great skin and a welcome change from the defaults.
