Now that a version with a custom RAS reflex sight has been released it's going to take a hell of a good skin to compete with it. It really mixes the best of both, a new sight, yet nothing so different as to take away from the original model. As before, the skin features reflect maps, however there is no world model as this is effectively the default. Anyone who likes the Splinter reskin for its simple, subtle changes to the original model and skin must download this at once, it really does improve it drasticly. Review & Submission by Elanzer

The model is, oustanding, very high poly, very detailed, very slick. The skin brings out the detail in the model and stays very consistant with the tone. I really like the origins on this gun, close to the middle and aiming forward, not inwards. The Animations are excellent for the most part, but the firing animation lacks recoil. There is recoil, but the gun doesn't buck or jump in the hands. New sounds are a plus too. The gun lives up to the title as the "Ultimate M4." Review & Submission by Milkman

I finally got the time to test and review it and now regret not getting it up sooner. I think we have all seen this M4 in many shapes and forms before, so lets focus on what is new. Modifications; The model and skin have been tweaked a little, but the outcome is still the same; excellence. The animations are Hav0c's latest. I like them because they give me a break from the many compiles using Jennifer's V1 and V2 animations. Although I am a fan of Jennifer's V2 animations, they have become boring for me after many months of use. These animations are fresh and of similar quality to jennifer's work. Custom sounds are included, the only thing I protest in them is the firing sound, sounds too weak and nothing like an Armalite. World models are included as well. Review: Milkman Submission: Hav0c

Original Compile: Bullet_Head Compile: Dr. Midnight	Official Score » 8.8 Member's Score » 9.5 Downloads » 16069 Member's Fav's » 0 Overall Rating: 89.8% The only compiles thusfar for this gun have been for the AUG/SG552, and considering the LR300 is based off of the M4, why not compile it for that as well? Rhetorical questions aside, this release is a pretty good effort. The model is The Lama's LR300, which is a finely made model. The model comes with two varients; one with iron sights and one with a scope. The skin is by Thanez, and there is also a camo version. I think that the alternate camo skin is pretty interesting, buts its not much more than an overlay of thanez's skin. The animations are version 1 of jennifer's M4 animations. They are not the best m4 animations in my opinion but they are better than the defaults. The issue with the animation here lies with the hand ever so slightly clipping into the mag well. The sounds are for the most part good, but nothing new. I myself really can't stand the firing sound though, doesn't sound much like a rifle firing. This release does have world models. Although this weapon has been released before, it never got a chance to impress due to it being on shoddy animations. However, it has now been put on Jen's M4 animations and I must say the overall improvement is considerable. If you havn't read the review for the original release, I advise you do so, as it focuses on more good aspects of the release. Anyway, the model and skin are very good, and have served many peoples SG552 slot very nicely, however for the M4 although it is a very good attempt, it has a few drawbacks. Those drawbacks are mainly the fault of the animations - An SG552 is just not an M4, and as a result the forward assist goes to get pushed, however it just looks as if you're pushing the frame of the gun oddly for no reason, it's also missing sounds making the animations seem even more out of place. The world models have issues too, as the vertical grip is neglected. If you can look past these faults however, it may win you over with its overall chunkiness and powerful feel. This is the same excellent Soul Slayer's M4 as previously released, but with an added EOTech holosight and backup flip sight. The added extras have been correctly recoloured to match each other and the base weapon, so everything should be neat and tidy. Even though there were no real problems with the original skin, it was very dark in game, and while this is not a large improvement it is a tiny bit lighter and more contrasted at least, and gives the model a different look that may appeal to some of you. I personally don't prefer it, but it does provide some variety and is a bit more realistic. As for the rest of the replacement, the model itself is quite high poly and well detailed, and features the latest and greatest animations from Jennifer. For more info on these please see the original release. Back to this skin, my only complaints (And this is digging deep for them) is the skinned-on 'fake lighting' is very strong on the silencer, and to me looks horrid when it's being removed, as it makes the silencer look stripey. It's got the same texture quality as the standard Splinter's M4A1, but has a more centered orgin, and of course new animations. I don't see any downside with this replacement. The only thing is that if you don't like Jen's Anims, you will probably not like this skin.

While looking rather decent, there are some things that bother me too much to give this weapon a higher score. The model is a hack, but is rather inaccurate in portraying a M16. The barrel is too short, just compare the area infront of the front site to a real m16 and you will see what I mean. The magazine is straight, even though 30 round magazines are curved. The skin is confusing to me. It says HK on the reciever, HK as in Heckler & Koch, problem is HK doesn't manufacture M16A4s, or any m16s for that matter. These inaccuracies are a peeve of mine, but if you really don't give a damn about accuarcy, its a good hack. Minus the inaccuacies, the skin is very good. The animations are valves, and not a worse thing could have been done than to use valves asinine animations. The hand pulls the bolt catch... but the catch doesnt move. The gun is held at an odd angle. If done in real life, you would be holding this weapons with the buttstock over your shoulder and you right cheek pressed against the reciever. This is just too much for me. I am very critical of this gun, but I still see potential in it, and thats why I think it deserves a spot on this website. Review & Submission by Milkman
