The Colt .45 is a no-thrills design, and yet still a very elegant pistol. The model reflects this well. There are four skins to choose from, whether it be matte black or chrome, simple steel finish, or for the more adventerous, Gold plating. Good use of ref maps also enhance this handgun. Quad's animations feel like they were made just for this gun. All the animation sequences are lively and show off the great model. Although no custom sounds are credited, there indeed custom sounds. I have never heard the firing sound before, but I love it with this pistol. World models included. Note: Follow the Readme closely to properly install the skin varients for this release. If you havn't read the first review I suggest you do so, as it covers the brilliant two-tone skin and reflect maps, as well as the custom grip in more detail. All you need to know about this version, is that it's the same as the other but without the ridiculously long barrel. This gun is suppose to represent the USP match she uses in the movies. Aside from the background, this release is still great on its own. The model is sharp, detailed and otherwise perfect. The skin is the usual USP setup with the silver slide, which has a pefect shimmer thanks to the reflect maps. Animations are not Quads, which I hold as the best of the best for desert eagle replacements, but jennifer's animations are no worse, just different. I have 3 excellent choices for desert eagle replacements lined up ready for reviewing. The first being, the Smith & Wesson .44 magnum. Made famous from the "Dirty Harry" films of the 70's, this handgun is a montster, and a perfect replacement to the desert eagle. The model is nothing too fancy, revolvers are not exactly the most intricate weapons ever devised. The skin is fine, but I would like to have seen a black polished version as well, chrome revolvers (or in this case, flat aluminum, no real ref maps) aren't my favorite, and when compared to the closest gun, the HL2 colt python, the skin just doesn't match up with it. This gun uses Jennifer's revolver animations, no real complaint there except the gun is held one handed, but not worth degrading for that. Apart from the obvious modifications made to the barrel, it includes a custom 'NMBS' logo on the grip, and some excellent reflect maps made by Darkelfa. They really are somthing, and contrast brilliantly with the dark skin. It also comes with Jen's new deagle animations, and world models. Overall this is a deagle with serious attitude, get it now. The metal is a high quality tone of class, and it lets my mind wander, thinking this is the sort of weapon a mob boss would use! Then the handle is quality to, the light color makes a nice change from the average wood or resin looking ones, and again it makes the replacement look much more classy. The one that could drop a Combine Soldier in one hit? Now this beast of a revolver is availible to you in Counter-Strike Source. Nothing has been changed about the model, it is still looks as good as the first time I played HL2. The skin has been updated, but still looks very similar to the original. The reflect maps are suddle, but greatly enhance the appearence of the gun. This gun has Jennifer's revolver animations which I am quite fond of. The only thing I could think of to improve the reload would be the addition of a speed loader. The sounds are good, I especially like the sound of the dumped shells hitting the floor. Personally, this is my favorite revolver replacement, I loved using this gun in Half Life 2, and I will continue to use it in Counter-Strike Source. World models are also included. This is the biggest, baddest looking pistol around. The gun is based off of Stoke's Desert Eagle, so if you want a more indepth review, check it out in our desert eagle section. As for the changes, well they are obvious. A very long extention of the barrel has been added. The grip has also been modified, but I can't tell much of a difference.
