A lot of you have been waiting for another Galil - and here it is. This time in the form of an FN FAL. Personally I think this is a pretty strange choice of replacement weapon, it would be more suitable for the autosniper considering the size and calibre. But on with the review - The model is excellent, the skin pretty good, however the custom animations are boring and the origins a bit too low, which really lets this replacement down a bit. It also includes world models, and 4 different skins - 2 wood and 2 synthetic, so one of them is bound to tickle your fancy.

This is an absolutely fantastic release, the model and skins are spot on. The origin is not the best, but the animations are smooth and precise. The only real issue is that the reload is not long enough.

I absolutely love this skin! The wood displayed in the screenshot fits it most if you like it as a real Terrorist weapon, and the Synthetic Black gives it a more modern feel ! The way the model is placed in V_View isn't really perfect, and i would have liked it to be placed a tad more to the top, displaying more of the model. Anyways, i can easily say that you should get this, if you haven't already! Bravo! Bravo!

it looks REALLY REALLy short compared to the real thing... i dont know it might just be me. and the origins sorta make it look more like the grease gun. try lifting it up a bit to show more of the gun's receiver. but kudos to you for making a replacement for the frkn ugly arse default galil

I like the model, the animations are a little blah. Though the way its reloaded gives it the impression the gun is much beefier than it actually is. The gun sound is okay, better than the default.
The model itself is pretty good, the wood is well detailed and bumpmapped, the metal parts could use some scratches and nicks along with the wooden.. i havent tried the synthetic versions..
Though in the future i woul like to see a FN-Fal for either the GSG1 or the AK-47. since they are similar in calibur(i think)

looks really cool and sounds are great! but one problem: when i extract files and start to play the gun is black and purple coloured :S and i dont understand the readme file properly so if anyone can send me e-mail or some instructions. e-mail: junkka@hotmail.com

Great skin, nice and bulky. It also makes the gun look a whole lot beefier and more powerful and I like the different colors for the skin.

good skin,
for anyone who has a purplish or pink skin you probably did the same mistake i did, so read this please. I'll tell you what to do to fix this in steps. this is for people that have done normal skins before though read the install skins if u have no clue how to install any skin. since this has 4 different guns in it it can show up purplish pink so read this if ur gun if pink.
Steps:
1. download this skin again and save it onto your desktop.
2. extract the files to the cstrike folder again.
3. now double click on the folder on your desktop and double click on the folder "textures".
4. You should see 4 folders like wood, wood2, synthetic, and synthetic black. Choose one and delete the other three.
5. double click on the one you chose and keep double clickin onto the folders until you get to a folder that says rif_galil. copy that folder.
6. go to windows explorer and find your cstrike folder. go and delete the textures folder in the windows exploer. NOT the folder on your desktop.
7. go to the materials folder in windows explorer and keep double clickin on the folder untill you get to the v_models folder. Double click on the v_models folder and paste the rif_galil folder that you copied earlier and put it in the v_folder. You should see other guns in the folder if you've done skins before.
8. hopefully it works for you cause it worked for me. and if it does work please reply cause i busted my butt writing this long ass direction thing.
IF other guns show up pink there probably is a similiar problem too :), if it works enjoy cause i know i do. and if you don't have windows explorer ur probably screwed too. Have fun and i love this gun Now lol

The model is great. But the origins take away from this beauty -- It blocks out the massive detail that was put into the rear of the gun. Also -- The shoot animations aren't too good at all, when you shoot more than one round (ie. spray, burst) there seems to be no recoil. Jake made the recoil part of the anim too far into the keyframes. All in all, this great. Terrific skin, terrific model.

I'd have to agree with elanzer that the FAL is not exactly suited as a Galil replacement, but I feel the skin is properly modeled, accurately represented and very well done in terms of the visual standpoint (i'm canadian, we used to use the L1A1 under the designation of "C1A1.")
The animations are okay, but because of the high cyclic rate and small caliber, the anims are unsuited to this particular rifle. Full auto accuracy would rival that of a MAC10...
all in all, the skin and model are gorgeous, but it would be suited to the Sig 550 or the G3 S/G1.

By far the best skin for this weapon BY FAR. It sounds cool it looks cool and trust me this gun owns everyone :) if your looking for a better close quarters gun that spits out bullets then the FN Fal is for you, since i dont like the defender at all this wins hands down

As a big fan of the FN FAL, i've searched the web in search of all the CSS replacements i could find, some were excellent, not however this one. Don't get me wrong, the model is extremely accurate, the anims top class, but the origins let this mod down quite alot. I have no doubt that if the origins were made much higher, as with some other galil mods i have seen, this would score 10 from me
