A good idea, but doesn't "cl_allowdownload 0" stop these as well?

Yes, but then you would not be able to download anything at all, including custom maps and perhaps in the future security packs for Vac2.

This is a great idea and it does exactly what is says on the tin. Unfortunetly more admins add more sounds everyday so it will always be slightly out of date. even with updates. Still worth a high 9/10. Gj

I'm sorry to say that this was something I downloaded right before my Counter-Strike mysteriously disappeared, and now I can't play it. I'm sure it works well though.

I say yes. Functions well and I like it. As said it will always be slightly out of date but then again it's helped me no end. ALso if you go into your cstrike folder and into sounds you can delete the pesky files. ;) Tall out

OH THANK GOD! Does anybody know how much I hate hearing the south park guys announce something bad about my mother? Or Appoo from the Simpsons announcing that you are a pervert? Or those quake sounds that juice up everytime somebody scores a headshot with an AWP? Alex Roycewicz, I see that we don't only share our first names. Thank you, you have saved me so much distraction it's maddening.

cl_downloadfilter "nosounds" cl_showpluginmessages "0" Self explainitory. I'm a purist. I hate custom admin sounds, or any mod that alters the game in any way, whether it installs Quake noise or allows admins to do stupid things to a user such as unbind keys or slap or slay or burn or gay. Either a user should be banned, or not, there are no shades of grey, and slaying someone who's diffusing just isn't funny anymore, it never really was. I just discovered these cvars, and I only tested them a little, but they seem to work. While they probably don't stop admin abuse commands, they do seem to put a halt to sounds that get thrown on to your hard drive by mods that (unfortunately the majority of) newbie admins install. The server will still make your PC try to run the sounds, but it won't force you to have them. However, that means for this to work, you'll have to delete the admin sounds that you already have (or archive them for later use.. or keep the ones that you like only). Otherwise it'll only stop new sounds from downloading, while annoying you with the laggy, annoying, newbie custom sounds that you unwllingly still have. RCON > _mod Sewage > _mod Have fun, it's almost as good as when it first came out, before impurities were coded. Though, I can't sleep at night knowing that the servers I am playing on are having precious CPU cycles and bandwidth stolen by useless mods that serve little to no purpose other than to make a special edmin smile. I give this soundpack a 9... it wasn't perfect, but the idea alone would be enough to give a pure 10 to, but my tolerance of impurities in game related stuff is slim.

This is quite redundant considering you can turn off the downloading of sounds in your config file. Nice try but the simple approach is better.

first off, id like to congratulate this man on spending his well earned free time making this game so much more enjoyable for me. and possibly other people. this is the BEST radio replacement ive found ANYWHERE amd personally, i think it does sound alot more realistic, like their actually a little tense like youd think they would be.... so igive you a 10 sir! congratz! the onlyproblem id have is the metal at the end, i ADORE metal but that may lead some people to believe its just "extreme" and not realistic, but still awesome pack dude, youve HAD my dl for a week already and i dont see getting rid of it anytime soon unless you plan on removing that metal at the end. anways a 10!
