A New Year for CSDL
Well, happy new year to everybody, I'm sure you all found a way to let the new year in.
New year is usually the time that I review how the year has been, as well as make some 'resolutions' to make the next year even better.
So, in 2005, here on CSDL:
  • The site popularity has doubled.
  • The site's bandwidth has tripled!
  • We moved over to version 4 of csdl 'adagio'.
  • The CSDL Clan was formed.
  • The first Counter-Strike Podcast was lauched.
  • CSDL now houses the largest collection of reviewed source skins.
  • Users have downloaded a total of 16.36 Terrabytes (16752.64 GB) of data from CSDL.
So what's to come next year from CSDL?

Well, we can't just tell you that! It would spoil the suprise!
But, we're planning to get back on track with regular podcasts, as well as the potential for some videocasting... who knows!
As well as that, there's going to be some exciting new features for CSDL coming this month. We want to own, and we will, even more.

So, happy new year, welcome to 2006!

The skins admin system is having some growing pains right now. It should be resolved with a rewrite, soon.

We take a very different approach to FPSBanana.
We review every skin that goes on the site, to help users decide which skins to use.
We generally only accept the 'higher' quality skins.
The news that goes on the site is usually fairly timely... we just don't report alot of the minor news, which will be changing soon.
And, the skins admin backend is having some problems at the moment, which is why we're late with the releases.

Just because fpsbanana has more skins dosent mean anything. CSDL only releases quality ones, while fpsbanana will release anything submitted. and even if CSDL did s.uck, it takes alot of work to run a website, so you shouldnt really badmouth them should you? K im done acting like a suck up. =)

That videocasting part sounds good but will be very tricky to pull off i reckon.

Videocasting is essentially the same as podcasting, you just use a movie file instead of an mp3 file, I've already put some videos in the podcast feed to see if it works.
From what I've tried, it's fairly simple.
