Counter Strike DL > News > Assault for Source

With the close of another week, comes another weekly news update from Valve, and this one is sure not to disappoint. The news update brings word of cs_assault in the works for Counter-Strike: Source!
Valve have produced some great news, cs_assault is set to be released for Counter-Strike Source!

We're happy that the recently released Counter-Strike: Source maps de_inferno and de_port have been so well received, and along those lines it's time to start talking about what's coming next. This week, we have a couple of screenshots from the remake of the classic Counter-Strike map cs_assault, which is now set in downtown Chicago.

Although no official release date has been released, it looks like it won't be to far off!

Actually, while building Assault for source I've added a few things to make the map slightly less T-centric. One being another door into the warehouse. I've also changed some sight lines for the CT sniper deck building. We are in the process of playtesting this to make sure it's a positive change, while still retaining the fun of Assault. Feel free to email and tell me what you think of these changes once the map has been released.

L0l i used to play in compotitions in my local I.T center and the compo map was always cs_assualt!!!..I say its gonna be the best map

I'm sorry, but I have to express my dissapointment with this. It's at daytime, they have added another entrance, how can that not change the gameplay? What I really want is a straight port of the original map, cameras and all. This is just gonna be like another annoying fan-made version.

I love assualt still one of the most played maps b4 i left the u.k at my local lan centre (bifflan) and it was always being played its my personal fav but the new features hopefully aint ruined it. Any one know any net centers in NC

PLAYTESTING? Hopefully that means it''ll be out soon. I just hope it won't be laggy like inferno, or another snipe war like port.

finnally another cs_assult. On the assult server i play on now they have this crappy map with glitchy walls and ladders. cant wait for this one
