There hasn't been any posting going on here for a long time now. I'm back now though and I will definitely be posting regularly. But the more posts the better in my opinion. So if you have a CS or CSS clan that you would like to get some traffic / exposure for then maybe you will be interested in this offer.

I'm offering anyone who can write quality content about Counter Strike 1.6 and/or Counter Strike Source the chance to guest blog on counter-strike-dl.com
In exchange for writing, you will be allowed to put a couple link or banner at the end of your post. The only requirement is that your link or banner must be related to cs or css.

The topic you choose to write about is up to you. You could write about modding, making videos, Counter Strike Leagues, hackers, whatever floats your boat. The content must be unique, meaning it must be written by you and written specifically for this site (no copy pasters)

If you're interested please send an email to labs.harkness [at] gmail.com

  • For some time now, we've been working on new Steam features that make it a lot easier to play games with friends. This week, we announced The Steam Community, bringing the features one step closer to a Steam client near you. Over the next few weeks we'll reveal more details and, in July, the beta version of the Steam Community will give you a chance to explore the features for yourself.

  • We're cranking away on the Orange Box games and have zeroed in on a release date for Half-Life: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. All three games will be available on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 9th. Should be an exciting day.

  • Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is now available for Windows XP exclusively on Steam, which means everyone in the office is trying to crack Doug Wood's high score. We should probably all just give up and finish building our own games: clearly, we have our hands full.

  • New season, new wearables: Just in time for summer, we’ve stocked the Valve Store with two new t-shirt designs - "Evolution" and "Hand."

  • This summer Valve will ship a major update to its online gaming platform Steam, introducing an advanced set of community features to more than 13 million gamers around the world.

  • Beginning in July, Steam users can set up their own personal Steam pages and profiles, create and join groups, schedule games with friends, review who they've played with, see how well everyone played, chat with groups, chat via voice, and more. These new community services and features can be used with all Steam games, which include new releases and classic titles from leading publishers and independent developers.

  • Free of charge, the new community features will be accessible via the Steam desktop client and via the web.

  • "Our community has given us great direction on the ways they want to see Steam evolve," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve. "Adding these new community features to make it easier to connect with other gamers is something we've wanted to see on Steam for a long time and this latest update is just the start. We've got a long list of items that we're working on to make it easier for gamers to connect and play games on Steam."

  • This upgrade marks the largest extension to the Steam platform since its first commercial release in March 2004. In its three year history, Steam has defined the next generation online gaming platform delivering hundreds of games to millions of users with services such as Guest Passes, Automatic Updates, Free Weekends, and allowing gamers to access their games from any PC.

So, is this the future MySpace of gaming? - will xfire take a hit?
Will there be a developer API so sites like CSDL can use stuff from the steam community?

Well - It's all a bit vague really, what's your thoughts.
