Here the deal, I I'm upgrading from my X1950 Pro. Is the 9600GT a HUGE upgrade? Also, is there any card under $180 (USD) that would be a better choice?

Also, would it be a good idea to wait fort he 9800GT (Ive heard some things about it)?
Just to make sure, the 9600GT works with DX 10 AND lower correct? (i.e. DX 9.0c for XP)
