Hi,
Within the last week ive noticed a few problems on my PC:
- Cant login to MSN (when i type my username and password it laggs then claim the service is unavalible)
- Cant use Hotmail or Gmail, the site claims its loaded (says Done) but the screen is just white.
- Cant watch videos through YouTube or Google Video, says i dont have 'flashplayer9', which i do, or that Javascript is turned off, but ive followed a step-by-step on fixing it and they still claim the problem.
- Cant use links that are images.
All these error ocour only on my account, my brothers account works fine. Any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Do you have any firewalls or Virus protection software that is clear for your brother but blocks you?
TheRepublican

Could be a number of things, it's impossible to say for sure from here. A format fixes everything though.

Backup your things, make a new account, copy your things across.

In that case, steal your brothers account, rename it, and give him a shit one.

Get a reliable spyware remover.
Try downloading Windows Defender, AVG and some other free anti-virus/spyware software.

Ad-Aware is good too, I use it when I'm too lazy to run AVG.

I have:
AVG 7.5
AVG Anti-Spyware
Super Anti-Spyware
HiJackThis
CCleaner
Ive run test with them all and all they find are tracking cookies.

wait.. if you copied all the stuff from your account and it was still dodgy on the new one, just back up your music, pictures and bookmarks, make a new account and just put those on and reinstall any software.
Delete your old account.

Porn and freeware games that don't look reliable... Anything from a website that looks like it was made by a 3 year old. P2P sharing programs fucked me over several times. the biggest thing though is NO PORN. My computer is a fortress against anything spyware related, I've become pretty adept at handling this kind of stuff as over time (as some CSDL members may remember) I have pretty much done some terrible stuff to my computer out of sheer stupidity. I've never had to reformat thank god though I'm sure that it would have been the easiest solution in some cases rather than the round about ways I used.
ANYWAY first off, you may want to try a system restore, if this stuff has just started happening fairly recently and you're not too worried about losing a few files as well as being fairly sure of what might have gotten these problems started just run a system restore and your computer will be reset to a point in time before things became fucked up and you will suffer minimal losses.
Secondly, get yourself protected. The programs I use that are pretty much failsafe and FREE are: Ad-Aware SE, Spybot S&D and Windows Defender (only works with a genuine copy of windows). Between those three programs and not using P2P sharing or downloading shady stuff onto my PC everything has worked fine for me for a good while. Also some decent antivirus stuff is recommended while you're at it. I use McAfee, others I've known to be good are Avast!, and something called Commando, or something along those lines (maybe Comodo) anyway; with all that you should be fine.
In my opinion you should have been using firefox from the start though after running a system restore and scanning for all that stuff with the programs I listed above I really have no idea what else you could do. You may with to Defrag your hard drives and registry as well just because it sounds like you have a lot of crazy shit on your computer.
