I've DLed several player skins and put them into the right folder(believe me its right).
Nothing changed when i go in the game.

BTW, just sth unusual, i dont have a scripts folder, neither a models folder, and under the oringinal material folder, there's only 1, 2... 3 folders that r decals, temp, and VGUI.

And it seems, Steam had dropped a folder called SourceMods under the SteamApps folder (If that matters at all)

Whats all the gcf things???

Put in simple-talk, they're archives of a game's files. When you download a game from Steam it downloads the GCFs, then necessary data is extracted from them upon running the game and formed into the standard game directory e.g Cstrike. It's also why you can delete that directory and have it regenerated for you. Don't mess with them unless you want to mess up and be forced to redownload your game.
