I've noticed that you wont put up skins that aren't meeting your requirements of no HUD, image size, and posing. This can be done easily, but maybe being a little less strict about submitting skins, you might atract some newcomers who dont know to go to the forums. It might also be helpful to newcomers who just wanna look at skins, whithout having to see the same ones, never updated. That is all. Please take this into consideration.

The reason it is not frequently updated is because there are only 2 admins here in CSDL right now, and both of them are pretty busy and don't have much time to update skins.. it will be sorted.. just keep waiting.. that's all you can do now.

He left a while ago due to the fact he didn't like CS anymore or the CS community if I remember correctly.

Suggestion taken onboard, but don't think we have never thought about this.
Putting a submitted skin up on site takes even more time and effort than doing a new one the normal way. The credits are usually wrong or non existant, there's never a review, and if there is it's usually goes like this:
QUOTE (An actual submitted 'review')
I was wondering wat gun whould i put but i found 1 im just a new member k Well its like a sniper on a deagle but it doesn work dnt get distrcted by the snipe thing.......
Yes, that's a real sample. After that the zip is completely mangled and usually missing textures or script files when they're needed for it to work, not that it's wanted because it's usually somthing of FPSB quality - a reskinned purple homosexual edition M4 or similar. The images are hardly ever sized correctly, always include a HUD, sometimes taken in the darkest spot on the map so nothing is visible, and sometimes even cropped in MS paint to the point of only half of the gun is visible. Ontop of the usual stuff, random .exes, sometimes containing viruses are uploaded too making it an even less desireable activity for staff. And before you think "well surely someone with modelling talent/a brain uploads", they don't. At the end of the day we're a quality site, we only feature quality content that passes quality control, everything is done by staff to the highest standard possible in hosting skins on a website, go to FPSB if you want a site that displays 50 new examples daily of what 11 year old kids can do in MS paint.

^If I knew how to package the zip files and had a good comp to take good looking screens I would offer to help out.

I've tried submitting skins. I've included full credits, a lengthy no bias review and screenshots of the correct nature. Where did they go? I don't have a clue.

Sorry to say it but you'll have to consider them lost. The submission system has so many issues, and when fixed another 2 pop up. It's been wiped a few times plus files get overwritten frequently, combine that with my points above and the fact there's at least 100 files in there and the chances of finding your uploads are slim. It should just be removed in my opinion, I've told Mad about the issues and complications of having it but no improvements will be made until the next site upgrade I'm afraid.

Its up to the staff and official members but I suggest that a skin release forum be opened, and then the quality models can go up in the CSDL skins section.

Yea they also add skins slowly because they add GOOD skins/models. They dont just put any junk up like FPSBANANA does. Our admins take the time to try the skins out, review them. Tell us what is great about it so we dont have to test it our selfs. Also they are very very bussy people. Running CSDL and handling lifes problems and quests makes admins a very bussy person.

Maybe you guys should allow the supporters to moderate all skins. That would speed up the process of new releases. Oh, and I do love how when you check them you make sure they are all of good quality. I just think you should get more ppl you trust to be admins.

Well you see if they made people mods and admins then they might abuse that power.

Also if they just let people submit skins all willy knilly we would end up like fpsb
I love the way they do things here

The trick is to be mature, supportive and stick to it.

I dont mind the wait either. Everyday I check on FPSB and CDG, but the majority of releases are just re-skins, not full re-models.

It's not as simple as 'just letting someone else do it', The End or Batman will back me up seeming they have experience that there's loads of little bits that have to be done, important guidelines to learn and follow all the way down to facing certain directions when taking screenshots to get the best lighting, staff actually need training before we take them on here...
