Downloading Dead Snow as we speak. Watched a bit of it on stream and it had those lolworthy moments where heads are torn apart and things of that nature happen. Not an Oscar winning film, but a fun one nonetheless.

favourite part, lol. (PS, subtitles provided are completely shit)

also, we need a movie thread, dont we?
WolfXI
HEAVY IS ZOMBIE.

Minor spoiler alert for the paragraph below.

I enjoyed the movie I must say, I mean you can't go wrong with Nazi zombies. Cheesy in a way that it knows it's cheesy but is still cool. I mean, I know it's a zombie movie, but wtb a bit of realism involving the human body; pushing your fingers into somebodys eyes and then pulling back hard isn't going to rip his head into several large chunks and then make his brain slump out on the floor. YOU CAN'T PUNCH AN INCH THICK WALL OF WOOD AND POSSIBLY GO THROUGH IT. Ripping somebodys legs off will not give you perfectly severed legs what looks like were cut off with a guillotine or something. The hanging off the cliffside via intestines was lol though so I'm not going to criticize that.

Also new siggeh out of an opportunity I saw when I was browsing a couple of the screencaps I took of it.

Wolf's for sell.

I think some martial arts practitioners would like to have a word with you.
WolfXI
They're fucking zombies, fuck you. Not even punching either, like having their fist in a claw.
Elanzer
They do it in L4D. Metal doors too.

Do you have it in you to criticise Left 4 Dead?
The_Sorrow
We will rape you.
WolfXI
FFFFFFFFFFFFHNNNNNG.

Speaking of "zombie" films, I watched 28 days later yesterday (had not seen it before). I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't anything like 28 weeks which I did not particularly enjoy. I really liked the fact that it was more humans vs humans then human vs rabies victims. Also I enjoyed pretty much everything about the film, except for the INFECTED WITH RAEG line at the beginning, but it was forgiven as the film was fantastic.
Elanzer
28 Weeks was a load of shit. I'm dreading a 28 months now seeming at the end they alluded to the infection crossing the channel onto the mainland through the chunnel.

This. I was extremely disappointed with 28 Weeks.

I actually watched 28 Days a couple weeks ago (haha), and it's still amazing. The feeling of complete desolation and loneliness at the start of the film is incredible. It's right below John Carpenter's The Thing on my list of all-time favourite movies.

fucking nazis
Elanzer
You love 'em really fashionboy.
Santana Claws
All this horror talk has me wanting to watch old John Carpenter films... Big Trouble in Little China or Prince of Darkness anyone?
KingTut
Yes please, Big Trouble is one of my favourite action movies.
Santana Claws
Get to the goddamn point Egg!
KingTut
Heres to American colours the colours that don't run! (where the plot to this point has been solely focused on Chinese culture)

Santana Claws
Total Recall is awesome man... whats wrong with you?
Guns For Sale
Boondock Saints 2 anyone?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r5ziBK--YA
Crazy Asian
I thought this sequel was scrapped?

Plus...why did they feel the need to replace Rocco with some faggot with a skullet? And no more William DaFoe. Oh yeah...oh great, another "badass" chick in a movie...
Guns For Sale
=/ i felt the same way.

I don't know why they replaced him..he was great.
And i don't know why they would do that, replace him with some crazy bitch. Will is pretty badass, and his personality fit the movie really well. I don't want to see some random chick acting like him, dancing around on crime scenes shooting her gun in the air.

I think this is going to end up being "lollolollets add lots of action and completely fuck everything"

But i'll still watch it, its boondock saints..

I think it is still ago, i mean the imdb is outdated, but fox seems to have a page still up about it with the trailer. Plus it was shown at this years comic-con too.

Film thread anyone?

Might as well reply here now, lol.

Boondock Saints 2.....

It could be very good, or very bad, rofl.

Replacing Rocco could be a major fuck-up.

And having some strict cunt as the detective chasing them......ugh

But it still looks interesting.

Will watch. Maybe not in the theatres though.
Crazy Asian
FUCK! What's with movies giving women vin diesel roles? That doesn't make a woman badass, it makes her a cunt; just like vin diesel.
Elanzer
As a film, the first one was pretty shit really, so not much has been lost. Only reason people watched it and continue to hype it even now as a masterpiece is because of it's internet following.
Scud.NOR
Thats your opinion. But errr...

maybe people think its a masterpiece because they enjoyed it?
Elanzer
Pretty much all film critics slated it as well, so clearly my opinion isn't totally baseless and out of the blue.

Enjoyment doesn't necessarily equal masterpiece. That's where people go wrong.
Scud.NOR

It doesnt necessarily disqualify it as a masterpiece either. (that came out weird, but I think you can interpret what I meant, lol)

(And for the record, I never thought it was a masterpiece, I just found it very much enjoyable, therefore, I classify it as "a great movie").
Elanzer
Well from a simple perspective of 'enjoyed or didn't enjoy' then yeah it's perfectly watchable without switching off...

But as a work of art it's hardly any good is it?

After all the hype I'd heard when I first watched it I thought it was a clever satire on vigilante justice, but minutes later nope, I realised it was actually trying to be deadly serious. Beyond "WE'RE CATHOLIC LET'S KILL SOME CRIMINALS" the motivations of the protagonists are hardly explained or explored like you would expect in a VIGILANTE film. The plot is scarcely more than hollow dialogue connecting stlyised gunfest scene to gunfest scene to gunfest scene, with a predictable and utterly trite 'twist' thrown in for good measure. The only interesting part of the film, when it finally decides to explore (or more accurately barely touch upon) the moral aspects of vigilantism, are reserved to the mock-documentary segment they used to fill the damn credits with. ACE.

Now this sequel is coming out (from the same team too) fresh from any hype or expectations distorting people's vision, it might be a nice reminder just how weak these films are behind all the violence.
Scud.NOR
Yeah
Santana Claws
So, now you agree with Elanzer after disagreeing with him? What a spineless argument.
Scud.NOR
eh?

I agreed because he said something different in his other post...

Kiss my grill.

Besides. If you are arguing with someone and they convince you that they are right and you are wrong,

are you not allowed to say you agree?
KingTut
Neversaw the first one and only slightly heard of the now series. What is the appeal to these films? I have watched both trailers of the films and I really have no interest in them. Two catholic twins shoot criminals. Why? Because they are the only ones with the balls to do it? Why catholics? Why don't the police arrest them for not going through due process when they quite obviously make huge scenes. The criminals aren't shooting up whatever town they are in however these guys are and does that brand them as heroes?

I feel so confused. Why is this film generating so much excitement?
Scud.NOR
Watch it first, then ask questions, rofl tongue.gif

Only if its a Charmglow.

The first movie was mediocre at best, lots of violence and quips always makes for somewhat amusing entertainment. The sequel looks like it'll be garbage.

EDIT: Anyone see District 9 or Inglorious Basterds? Anyone's thoughts on either film? I want to see both.
ReVaN
Léon is my fav. movie of all times.

There's some discussion on D9 in the 'what are you doing' thread I think. Basically everyone loved it, although I was somewhat disappointed it went off into special effects sci-fi land instead of sticking closer to AIJ.

It did keep parts of it thankfully, but only at the beginning and the end.

Shame. Will still see it though if/when it gets here.
Scud.NOR
Seen Inglorious Basterds. What can I say, when you go to see a tarantino movie, thats exactly what you get.

I was expecting more nazi-frag-madness, but I honestly didnt mind the talking scenes that lasted for ages.

All in all exciting film. And the grand finale made it all worthwhile. Fucking lold my arse off.
