Hi all of you ,I know it's been a while ,but I've been super busy with the exams and summer training ,and when they where all finished I traveled to Iran for about a month on my very first forging Vacation ever biggrin.gif .

Anyway I'm back now and brought a little extra goodie with me from Iran :

Specs:

CPU:Intel Q8200 @ 2.33 GHZ 4 MB L2 cache

MB: Asus P5Q3 (With 1800 O.C DDR3 support)

GPU:FORCE 3D HD 4890 1GB

RAM :CROSAIR XMS3 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHZ (Dual kit channel)

PSU: OCZ Stealth X stream 600 Watt .

you might say why from Iran ? the answer is that they have better quality trade marks for cheaper and with real guarantees ,and you can find the latest technologies easily .

So what do you guys think?

Shaun
Win.
Now get playing those games.

Nice you finally upgraded, you should've asked someone who knows how to upgrade for advice before doing it though...

Compared to the rest of the system the CPU is a bit slow and will bottleneck performance. You should've gone with a Q9xxx rather than the old Q8xxx cores.
Similarly because of those cramped conditions it means the full potential of the GPU will not be realised. A 4850 would've been better suited to this kind of setup.
There's no need for DDR3 on Core2 systems, waste. DDR2 would've been plenty cheaper and have half the latency, potentially offering greater performance under the right conditions.
Also for the 4GB insert generic "I hope you're using a 64-bit OS reminder" here.

Well I wasn't planning on buying a PC from there ,we went to the markets on one day and just happened to stumble upon their PC markets ,I was immediately blasted with what I saw (as compared to Iraq's markets).
and I had my father with me as my translator (he has very limited patience) ,so it was all done in a rush .

also I know that my CPU is the bottleneck of the system but I just ran out of money when I was buying it so I went for Q8200 .
as for DDR3 I didn't even know they had DDR3 out there until I saw it with my own eyes ,and I had no time to do a thorough research about it on the net ,that and the fact that comparable DDR2 RAMs were on similar price tags (or a little cheaper, but nothing major) so I decided to go for it.

and I mainly choose a high end GPU to be able to play on high resolution ,and because it sounded great to my ears.

All in all .........I was like a kid in candy store tongue.gif

oh and yes I'm using vista 64-bit,you don't need to worry I've done my homework. wink.gif
