If I play music, it doesn't play. As in, it look as if it's paused/stopped. I can't hear anything except a click when I change from headphones to 2 speakers in the audio centre thing, which I have to run in compatibility for XP, even though it's the vista driver. FUCKINGGGGG

Have you tried rolling back/restoring to a date that when the hardware worked?

I installed vista and started installing all my video/motherboard drivers etc.
Got to the sound card and it didn't work. So it's never worked on vista, even though there's vista drivers on the installation CD and on the internet.

So Vista is probably to blame then, it's not recognising the card. Hmm. All I can suggest is taking the card out, removing all drivers relating to it, and starting fresh with newest downloaded drivers and firmware from the Asus site.


This should be disabled on any decent PC anyway.

Why'd you install Vista anyways?

Sexy effects, and I rarely play anything more demanding than L4D and WOW nowadays, so I'm not too bothered about performance. Seems to run alright anyway.
