Thoughts?

I'm glad they gave him a proper accent this time.

i'm really looking forward to this, loved the first one's game style so let's see what they can do this time around.
and yea i agree, accents this time around sound better!

And they got rid of the "investigation" missions from the first one biggrin.gif

Meh, the first was was ok. It was really fucking over hyped.

Hopefully this will be a improvement.
Elanzer
Only morons overhyped it. You should've listened to Elanzer.

Well they said they removed all the shitty and repetitive "investigation" missions and added more variety. Plus, the first one was still fun, just getting to the assassinations was a chore, but the rest was okay. Hopefully this will be much better.

Rented this. Enjoyed it, superior to the original in almost every regard.

I went in (thanks to the internet) expecting the story to get weird as hell and for aliens to show up at the end, but nope. Was pleasantly surprised. I guess it just requires half a brain cell.

I would hope for AC3 to be set in Victorian England with cameos from Jack the ripper and a real life Sherlock Holmes, but since S16 mentions an ancestor during the American civil war I guess it's unlikely. Better not be set over there instead, mind.
skyfire
agreed, a much better game. the story was rather interesting and the flow of the game was great.
S16's videos were a nice touch. I loved the fact that you could swim in water this time around, it was
a good way to escape some fights that you didn't want to partake in. Looking forward to the next game
even if its in the American civil war.

Does Subject 16 ever mention that Desmond has an ancestor during the American Civil War? Maybe Subject 16 was talking about his own. If I recall, Subject 16 doesn't even know who Desmond is. The Way ACI and II played out, there's no way early America era would work as a setting.
Elanzer
He doesn't know of him personally but he does know that there will be further descendants of the Assassins in the Animus and if he did witness the vault/prophecy memory he'd even know one of them may be named Desmond and have a very important job to do (maybe knowing this is partly why he left all the hints for him to find?)

I was kind of assuming the guy S16 mentions fighting at Gettysburg was Demond's ancestor too (or at least that Desmond would have another of his own in America at the time). But who knows, beyond Ezio we have no idea just how closely they're related.

Either way I see the most logical next step as going further North/West within Europe.

Anyone else think the game's soundtrack is awesome? In AC, I was always listening to music, but with ACII, I don't feel the need to.
Elanzer
I thought the soundtrack was somewhat weaker than AC1's.

Not a fault of the soundtrack itself, but I found (in typical Ubisoft style) the sound balancing was awful too, which didn't help as a lot of the time it was too quiet to hear clearly.
