The Escape From City 17 short film series is an adaptation based on the Half Life computer game saga by Valve Corporation. Originally envisioned as a project to test out numerous post production techniques, as well as a spec commercial, it ballooned into a multi part series. Filmed guerilla style with no money, no time, no crew, no script, the first two episodes were made from beginning to end on a budget of $500.

Pretty cool if you ask me, i seen this before but i didn't bother posting it, but now it seems that valve has gotten interested in it. And posted a little news update about it on steam.

It was alright, acting was a bit crappy. Better than that MGS one i saw a while ago.

Very cleverly done.

If it kept to that level, one could easily imagine a full film set in the Half-Life world.

lol'd at the headcrab zombies though. They look like weird men with rucksacks trapped on their heads.

I thought it was actually pretty darn cool. For a budget of $500, that's really well done.
Costumes looked good, the guns were accurate, and the effects were even on spot. Nice job if you ask me.

Most of it is CG (even metro cop heads) rendered with the help of the game itself so I'd be pretty pissed off if they didn't look damn similar.
