So the demo is out on XBL right now. I downloaded it last night and played it this morning. For a demo it's definitely a lot of content; you get a tutorial, the first two missions of the campaign and one (maybe two) skirmish maps with variable levels of AI difficulty which is nice. As far as gameplay is concerned it's nothing groundbreaking, there is a pretty basic cover system where you can tell infantry to snap onto certain defined cover pieces while everyone else just sticks it out in the open. Base building is simple and effective and the combat is pretty intuitive. Unit selection isn't too bad once you get the hang of it.
You can really tell it was built from the ground up for the 360 and imo the effort the devs put into making it console-compatible has really payed off. It's not as easy as a PC RTS would be, but it is fun and I heartily recommend trying it. File size is 1.4GB.

It's nothing great to be honest. I disliked the process of upgrading. I wasn't really expecting much from an RTS on a console.

I'm having fun with it but then again I guess I'm a simpleton when it comes to gaming. Agreed about upgrading though, it's a pain in the butt. The game seems to loan itself quite well to turtling, so I just defended and upgraded everything to the max until I could build a really big army with unstoppable units.
It was fun, but there wasn't much strategy involved.

i tried the demo and meh is the correct response to the game. I'm not really an rts type of person but to me it seems gaylo wars
is way to simple, made for retarded kids to get into rts games. i was playing in the second mission and i got bored so i exited to
dashboard. very boring and very MEH.

The funny thing is, Halo was originally to be an RTS. Might as well they went to FPS first..i haven't played it yet, but it don't look all that great.

no, the graphics are mediocre at best, cgi scenes are decent enough. the camera control sucks in the game.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/45935.html?type=They... Liked it? I'm a little baffled. It wasn't a complete failure, but I wasn't expecting GT to give it the score they did. They're pretty persuasive though. It made me want to go out and get EndWar more than anything else.

I haven't even bothered with the demo. Endwar shits all over this. Endwar is so good I rented it thrice. In a row.

It's £17 here now and I'm considering it so perhaps we both could and have a few games... I can't quite put my finger on what it is but I just love it. The individual faction personalities, the veterancy and equipment system, the fun infantry play, I just don't know.
