Hey guys, sure has been a while since ive been on here...

Hmm well im going to order a new graphics card sometime soon but i just cant decide the best gfx card to get thats under 180$ so far ive been eying the 9800 GT but i really need to know whats going to get me the best bang for my buck? what would you all suggest?

(would like the card to Run FarCry 2 fairly well on higher settings.)

basically anything would be a huge upgrade from my 7900GS by now. so i just need to know whats best in my price range..

I don't deal in dollars and prices vary so much between shops anyway it's impossible to say what you should get unless you specify a specific website, but I will say (For the nth time on this damn forum):

The Geforce 9800 range is just a deceptively named Geforce 8800 refresh. Going from Nvidia's usual scheme they should've been called the 8900's, but oh well. What is called the GT2xx series is the 'real' 9th Geforce range, so go for something in there if you want Nvidia. Or if you want ATi, go for something in the Radeon HD 4xxx range. Both are new, good, and comparable in price for performance.

I have a 9800GTX+ and I can run FC2 maxed, so if you're strapped for cash it's a cheap good performing card really. Beware though, it's fucking massive. My card was 10.5" inches long, and I ended up having to bend a little bit of my case to fit it in. Was my fault though, should have measured before ordering. :<

well i have a 8800 gts oc'ed slightly, and can run fc2 maxed out too, doesnt take much actually

I have a 8800 GT and i run FC2 max/high. but that is because i run the bitch at 1680x1050.

And I have a Radeon 4870 and it runs FC2 on high settings too! Wow!

... So like I said, considering they're all in the same rough price range go for one of the new cards I mentioned and not shitty revamped 8800s made in 2006.

Yeah and because both the 9800GTX+ and the 8800 could run on max, its because its the same card with a rebrand, so you pay twice as much lol
