Does anyone know some must have AV software? I got ESET32 SmartSecurity & NOD but my license has expired since this week.
So what should i do, buy another license, or buy me another software. Anyone got suggestions about a good AntiVirus program?
I tried Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, but that program is thé suck. My pc has been stuck for 4 times in a row.
I just had it of those stupid antivirus programs that tell you they got the best protection and then you lost your hope in a good secured computer.
So anyone can give me some suggestion about a good antivirus ?
Thankz
Elanzer
Just stick with the well known names, with everything.
NovaProspekt
Like what ?
Would you prefer AVG ? Or that Adware thingy?
Elanzer
I would say not spywaredoctor or smartsecurity.
NovaProspekt
Then wich one would you prefer me ?
Im not really helped with saying wich one i may not use. Actually i was thinking for using Adaware from lavasoft for spyware. And maybe AVG 2008 Pro for antivirus, should that be good enough?
Elanzer
I haven't used an antivirus in years, I can't give any up to date advice.
Shaun
There's no point in getting any anyway. As long as you don't go on dodgy websites or download lol-crysis-2008-all-cracked.exe (2.4MB) you'll be fine.
NovaProspekt
Why did you say something like that crysis thingy ?

Shaun
I think I've proven my point.
NovaProspekt
Are you acusing me of having an illegal Crysis copy ?
Elanzer
No, no he wasn't... Just, uh... Stick with NOD32, ok?
WolfXI
Haha. Misinterpretation ftl.
NovaProspekt
Owh, okay. Cuz actually i do have it *COUGH*
Elanzer
Nova is entertaining me greatly lately.
NovaProspekt
Your just making fun of me x'( </3

Yes he is.

I've heard Bit Defender is great. McAfee works really well for me, AVG is alright. Windows Defender and Ad-Aware are all good in my opinion.

Heard good things about NOD32.
NovaProspekt
Never mind about AdAware, i keep getting this notification from Windows Live One Care that AdAware is a unnecessary program.
There's always something .. unsure.gif
Elanzer
Windows Live OneCare has an inbuilt antivirus and antispyware.

Does that mean you're running at least 2 antivirus and 2 antispyware programs already?

I did. But Windows Live OneCare is only a 90 day trial.

General rule I stick by is never install trials or anything that wants paying for even if there's a free option. A lot of the time it will be either toned down to the point of uselessness, guaranteed to run out of time and stop working making it a semi-solution at best, crawling with revenue-generating adware to support it being 'free', or any mix thereof.

Uninstall all the crap on your system and just stick with a properly set up NOD32 for antivirus, and Adaware, Spybot S&D, or defender if you have it for malware. Unless you're paranoid there's no need for multiple applications doing the same job, they'll probably just conflict unless you've set them all up properly, not to mention waste a lot of resources.
NovaProspekt
El, theres something i need to tell you
I am paranoid..

lol not. But thanks, i'll do the job

I've only got spybot s&d right now...
Elanzer
... Is there more coming with that statement? Or were you just putting it out there.
Crazy Asian
Just putting that out there...
