I was just playing Guitar Hero with my wired X-plorer guitar controller (standard for GH II on 360) and all of a sudden the thing starts clicking down on its own and I can't get it to stop. Anyone know what I might be able to do about it, considering replacement is probably not going to happen?

Had the same thing happen with my guitar also. I opened it up and messed around with it for a bit on the inside but to no avail. Fixed it by sending it back for a replacement. Seems like your only viable option. :/

I was gonna say turn it off then on.

Tried and didn't work. Do you think that sending it to a local repair shop here might get the job done? I really can't send it back. If worst comes to worst I'll buy one at the Virgin Megastore downtown because in all honesty, I won't be able to live without multiplayer.

Getting it repaired will probably cost just as much as buying a new one. So, get a new guitar.

Not at repair shops in Cairo. Virgin makes you pay out the ass whereas repair shops are happy with peanuts. I'll go ask the repair shop first and then if that doesn't work I'll buy a new one. The purpose of this thread was basically to try and find a quick fix.

I sent mine back to Gamestop and the warranty covered it so they repaired/replaced it for free.

No gamestop here, but thanks for the advice.
