I was searching the net yesterday for news on dx10 when this showed up . there aren't that much feed backs about it on the net and no one seems to be too sure about it , but any way I took my chances and tried it , and sir am I glad that I did .
it changed the DX version to DX10 (in dxdiag) ,I would post a screen shot ,but I'm lazy.

wait that's not all, it gave my comp a solid performance increase in every game I tried so far .
it doesn't exactly acts like vista ,I mean games that has dx10.exe icon will detect dx10 but would only run on dx9.exe , although games that are not vista limited like grid worked with DX10 graphics and increased performance than before.one exception is crysis which has to get some files renamed first in order to run it in dx10 .(included in the read me file).

although I did notice a few graphical glitches in some places in ut3 and crysis but nothing important and only in very small areas.

all and for all ,I recommend that you all try it ,if only for the performance increase.

this is the site

ps:the read me is Russian so I'll give you the steps to run crysis on dx10 below:

1.goto bin32 folder in the main game's folder
2.rename a file called rendererdx10.dll to rendererdx9.dll and vise versa (not sure about
the name though but it's something very close to it) .
3.goto the desktop shortcut and select properties
4.in the target field add this " -dx10" (make sure to leave a space and do it without quotation marks) .
5.that's it now go in game and the very high option should be selectable.

also yes I know crysis can be ran on very high on XP via editing cvargroup files ,but this is better.

There is no such thing as DirectX 10 on XP, that's all a load of bollocks. No offence but there isn't a way to use DX10 on XP.

Well technically it's not DX10 . it's more of a hack , an emulator for DX10 . According to the description it's a custom code designed to emulate DX10 on a simpler code , and basically that's why it has a good performance increase . And frankly I don't care what it is as long as it works , and does the fps good . P.s : I didn't post this one for the DX10 visuals , but rather for the performance increase . So take it or leave it .

I'm sceptical at best.

Technically, MS could very easily modify XP to support DX10, their reasons for incompatibility is BS designed to retain Vistas only selling point. I just doubt that someone has actually managed to do it illicitly. Can someone tell me what the file is, it's not loading for me.

The file is an executable , called "dx10_xp" ,it's an installation file 6 mb in size. it worked perfectely with my xp sp3, but If the download is not working try the other link , the one to the main site . Edit : to give you an idea about fps increase I'll use COH:OF , On all maxed out with 1280x1024 I used to get 50 fps average , now I get 56 fps average , so there is some improvement . Other than that COH wont let me choose dx10 from options .
