Anyone else planning on getting it? I used to play the original Geometry Wars for hours in PGR2's garage arcade machines, and when it was released standalone with Retro Evolved it obviously became my first and by far most played XBLA game. This couldn't come at a better time seeming there's absolutely nothing else out right now.

Overall I'd say it's harder. Evolved is about the same but less exploitable due to the new enemies, Waves is a lot harder than it was in PGR4. New gametypes, some easy some hard. All fun. The achievements are very simplistic, but may take some time to crack.

Europe is just behind North America in the videogame market as a whole. For 360s not so much, only something like 25% of them sold are European. Lots of reasons for that, the biggest being Europe is traditional PS3 territory, there's more PS3s in Europe than the whole of North America.

I think there's some sort of wireless collective Xbox intelligence out there purely to grief the innocent. The deaths are almost too coincidentally rageworthy sometimes.

On the upside, seeming it died within 24 hours you should be able to get a direct refund/replacement from wherever you bought it.

It is. Sequence and Waves especially are hardcore.

Keep at it and learn the tactics for each gamemode, you'll improve. If that fails, chase achievements.

well I went back to wallyworld (Doukhobor Disneyland) and exchanged the xbox
so i got a working one now(hopefully for good).

This game is alot better then retro evolved. i like the fact that there are
alot more different game types, it adds to more replay value for me.
it is tough but its fun and challenging.

Bit of a bump, but I found a strange little easter egg.

Press right bumper + back at the same time, and it pauses the game and allows you to zoom in / change angle / roam the grid in 1st person.

Also, anyone know where to get the soundtrack for this? I'm somewhat hooked on the Waves tune:
