Okay, so I downloaded an AK skin (the highest rated one) and installed it per the FAQ. When I go to play the game, I still have the default AK skin and reload animations, BUT now my AK-47 makes no sound when fired. Anyone know what's going on? I had all custom skins back in 1.5, and I just got Source and the default AK skin is driving me insane - I used to own a Romanian AK, and I just cannot abide having that charging handle on the left side of the gun in-game >_<.

Anyone know what's going on?

Did you join a server or create your own?

Okay, well I at least got the skin working - turns out I had just joined 4 or 5 "pure" servers right in a row. What are the chances? O_o

But now, I have a problem. My AK skin works fine, but has no sound. No gunshot, no bolt pull sound, nothing. I have the four .wav files from the pack in their appropriate folder. Weird, huh? What's going on?

Erm... K. Delete ALL your AK files. Right click your cstrike file and click "Find" or "Search". Type in "ak". It'll come up with a list of files like "v_rifle_ak.mdl" and whatever. Delete them. Then connect to a server. (Make sure it's just a normal one, no WC3 or fancy mods.) CS:S then will see it doesn't have a ak.mdl, and thinks "oshit o model. quick lets make it!!!" so it re-creates the default AK model. Play for 2 minutes, get owned (Be sure to use the AK) then QUIT CS:S.

Download the model. Extract all the FOLDERS (Not .txt files) to
.../Steam/steamapps/<Account Name>/counter-strike source/cstrike . It'll ask you if you want to overwrite. Click YES TO ALL or something similar. Once all done. re-launch CS:S and get owned
